About IQFood
IQFood is a nutrition and metabolism tracking app for iPhone and Android. Log meals by photo, voice or barcode and see calories, macros, a weight forecast and estimated glucose, insulin and fat-burn curves.
What IQFood does
IQFood keeps the numbers you expect from a food tracker (calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat and fiber against personal targets) and adds an estimate of how each meal is likely to move your energy, hunger and fuel use over the next hours, and where your weight is heading.
Premium
Log a meal from a photo, your voice or a sentence
Take a photo, hold to speak, or type what you ate. AI suggests the foods, portions and macros, and you confirm them before anything is logged.
Free
Scan a barcode
Scan a packaged product to look it up among about 4.6 million products from the Open Food Facts database. Barcode logging never contacts an AI service.
Free
Estimated curves for your day
From what you log, IQFood estimates how glucose, insulin, ketones, energy and fat-burn are likely to move through your day, and draws the next hours ahead. These are model-based estimates, not measurements.
Free
Calories and macros, with personal targets
Every logged meal counts toward calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat and fiber, against targets built from your profile and goal (lose, maintain or gain).
Free
Weight trend and forecast
Log your weight and IQFood shows the trend under the day-to-day noise, plus an estimated date for your goal, worked out from your recent weight trend and what you log.
Free
Fasting, shown as fuel
Follow a fast as an estimate of fuel use rather than a countdown: when digestion is likely to finish and fat burning to rise. Fasting is not suitable for everyone.
Free
Menstrual cycle on the same graph
Log when your period starts and the estimates take the likely cycle phase into account, next to the rest of your metabolism. The hormone curves show typical patterns, not measured levels.
Free
Daily check-ins
Quick answers about sleep, activity and workouts, stress, energy and cravings feed the estimates.
Free
Apple Health and Health Connect
With your permission IQFood reads steps, sleep, workouts, heart rate and weight from Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android). It never writes back.
Free
Trainer Mode
Coaches see the data their clients choose to share, in a coach dashboard with the clients’ charts and a chat. Clients can revoke access at any time.
Free
Friends, chat, stories and streaks
Add friends by QR code or @tag, chat, share stories that disappear after 24 hours and keep a streak going.

Lab values (Android)
On Android you can read the values from a blood test into your log, and the estimates take them into account.
Who IQFood is for
- People who want to lose, keep or gain weight and understand why the scale moves the way it does.
- People who are curious how meals, timing, sleep and movement relate to their energy and cravings.
- People who fast and want to follow a fast as an estimate of fuel use rather than a countdown.
- Women who want the estimates to take their cycle into account.
- Personal trainers and coaches who want to follow what their clients choose to share, with Trainer Mode.
Who it is not for
- Anyone looking for a medical device or a glucose monitor. IQFood estimates; it does not measure, diagnose or treat.
- People under 16.
- If tracking food tends to make you anxious, or you have a history of disordered eating, talk to a qualified professional before using any tracking app.
How it works
- You log. Scan a barcode, or describe a meal with a photo, your voice or a sentence and confirm what AI suggests. Weight and quick daily check-ins add context.
- The engine estimates. IQFood's metabolic engine turns what you log into estimated curves for glucose, insulin, ketones, energy and fat-burn, using models from published research. Over time it personalizes parts of the model from your own data.
- You read the day ahead. The next hours are drawn in advance, your weight trend is separated from daily noise, and a forecast estimates when you are likely to reach your goal.
The method, its limits and the research behind it are on The science behind IQFood.

How we build it
- Labeled as estimates. The curves are model-based estimates computed from what you log, not measurements, and can differ from your real physiology.
- Describe, never command. Insights forecast what is likely to happen; they do not tell you what you must do.
- Grounded in research. The engine is built from published physiology, and in the app the curves come with explanations of what drives them.
- Private by default. No ads, and your data is never sold. Health data is processed with your explicit consent, and you can delete your account in the app at any time.
Where the data comes from
- Packaged foods: barcode lookups use Open Food Facts, an open database of food products made available under the Open Database License.
- Generic foods: nutrition values for everyday foods come from USDA FoodData Central (U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service).
- AI meal logging: processed on Google Cloud, as described in the Privacy Policy.
